***This book was formally titled The Shoe. Though, the author failed to note this on the venue descriptions***
This is a modern day Cinderella story. Complete with a lost shoe. Unlike the original, this lost shoe is worth almost eight grand! Cinderella is a sales girl named Blair, and Prince Charming is a hottie rock star whose stage name is Hunter. Hunter does everything in his power to find Blair after she wakes up after a night of hanging out and she's gone. All he has left of her is one crystal dusted shoe.
Being this this copy is an ARC I will not talk about the errors I found in the world.
The story itself pretty much goes with the grain of the real story. There's even a wicked boss with two ugly daughters all of which treat the main character like crap.
I found the most lively characters of this story to be Christian and Anthony. They're Blair's best friends and play the role of getting Blair ready. I also took a liking to the Hunter's band members, all of which act like a bunch of over grown playboy children. However, for me, Blair and Hunter fell a flat. I feel a little more work could have done with them to make them more unique.
All in all the story is entertaining. I enjoyed all the things Hunter did to try to find his Cinderella and liked the happily ever after as well.
I give this book 4 of 5 paws and look forward to seeing what else this authors comes out with.
